Dave Hunt founded Jean’s Place as a way to honor his late mother’s name and to help those struggling with their mental health as she had. He chose to specifically focus on youth because of his past growing up with mental illness, knowing first hand how beneficial having a true avenue for help would have been.

Karisa Hunt joined the team at Jean’s Place in May 2025 to help bring awareness to youth mental health crises. Karisa is involved with fundraising, grant writing, and communications.

Jason LaVance joined in 2025 to help with advocacy for individuals suffering with similar struggles as members of his own family have. He hopes to help to destigmatize mental health issues and create avenues for support in an area where some have recently been closed off.

Caitlin Stansbury joined the mission in June 2025. She has dealt with her own mental health struggles due to chronic illness since a young age and has lost friends to suicide. Caitlin is dedicated to supporting today’s youth in their own struggles and showing them there is hope and joy on the other side.
